I got started in the health food industry in 1998, when I helped start a natural foods store and managed it for 5 years. This facilitated my own healing journey. I came to find out I had candida overgrowth, was diagnosed with sub-clinical hypothyroid and fungal infection in my toe nails. Not to mention low energy, mental fog and poor digestion.
It's been a long learning lesson as I slowly regained my health through diet and supplementation. It's not only important, what you eat, but what you don't eat in the healing process. I regained my digestive health and can now enjoy foods that once gave me problems. My mental fog has cleared and am free of any medications. The body can do amazing things if you give it what it needs and get out of the way to allow healing.
In 2002, I completed a course through The American Herbal Institute becoming a Certified Modern Herbalist. I've always had a passion for plants and growing my own food. Then in May of 2002, I completed a PDC or Permaculture Design Course offered at Tierra Learning Center. This practice takes gardening to a whole new level of seeing and the natural world around you.
In the midst of all this amazing learning, I married my husband and started a family. I soon gave birth to my daughter in 2004, who is a thoughtful, healthy and creative person. Much later in 2011, I completed the Kamana Naturalist Training Program through Wilderness Awareness School, Duvall, WA.
I then moved to the Methow Valley in 2013, and have been settling in and creating our Permaculture gardens, and raising our daughter in a holistic way. My passion for healthy living and the rising health crisis, lead me to study at the Institute for Integrated Nutrition 2016/17. And here I am now, in service to the people, to do what I can to help while offering all the knowledge I have gathered over the years for your health and wellbeing.
I strive to get people out of the hospital, and into the garden. I would like people to get excited about taking back their health and getting in the driver's seat. Our culture has become so unhealthy in so many ways, I see nothing else to do but work to change that one person at a time. Yes, Health & wellness can be contagious too! My vision for the future is to cultivate balance, wellness and abundance for people and planet. The time is now! What are you waiting for?
